TREADMILL

Power chords, power trio, and power pop. John Dean asserts powerful
vocals and aggressive, melodic guitar. Trey Miles provides fiery drumming,
giving a solid backbone to this trio. These transplants from the New
Mexico
high desert have made their way to Portland, Oregon to hydrate and spread
their gloomy optimism to the great northwest. Their self-titled album on
Socyermom Records blurs the line between noise and pop, mixing angst with
love. Treadmill builds ambiguously meaningful lyrics to be interpreted
differently by each listener. After a couple of years of extensive touring
and recording these songs, Dave Kennel has fallen from musical grace and
into
a life of computer wizardry, opting to remain in the sun forever.
This band's live performance leaves its audience dry-mouthed and
emotionally exhausted. Their shows are provocative and disconcerting,
summoning up of all that pummels an audience into a tormented frenzy of
contentment. You need Treadmill. |
