ICKY & THE YUKS
Vaudville hardcore punk rock act, Icky & the Yuks bring
an old school attitude and their own brand of potty-mouth punk to the table.
Known for fun and drunken shows the band captured the circus live for
their
debut release "Eureka Pigness". Their sophomore effort titled
"Same Shit.....Different Day" has studio versions of all the live
tracks on Eureka plus some new songs and a great version of Agent
Orange's "bloodstains".
Their debut release Eureka Pigness is currently only available in very
very limited quantity through the link on this page. Don't delay, get yo-self
some Icky! From
Albuquerque, NM USA
Icky and the Yuks started over a few beers at the Dingo Bar in 1997.
Originally a joke band, somehow people liked us, so here we are today.
The band started as an excuse to get away from our wives and girlfriends on
Sundays, to have a few drinks and hang out. After a few practices, we got
bored and wanted to play for our friends. Three years later our first album
came out. It was recorded live at the Launchpad in 2000, and it is entitled
"Eureka Pigness." After a few lineup changes, we got our shit
together and have released a new album called "Same Shit....Different
Day" which contains some of the same songs on Eureka but this time they
are studio versions along with several new tracks for your punk rock pleasure.
Past members of the band include: Ronnie Wheeler (on guitar and vocals), and
Joey Gonzalez (on drums).
The lineup on this album is:
Richard "Icky" Trott (vocals)
Jay "Yuk" Collins (guitar)
Gil "Yuk" Sanchez (guitar)
Bob "Yuk" Beckley (bass)
Shawn "Yuk" Avery (drums)
On a funny note, we were in an independent movie called "Mall Cop"
which is due out later this year (2004).
Icky's style of old school energetic punk has been tearing through Albuquerque
for the last six years. We've opened up for bands such as: TSOL, DRI, Jackass,
UK Subs, The Cramps, The Vibrators, DH Pelligro, Fracas, The Angry Amputees,
and others we were too drunk to remember, but they were highly appreciated.
Icky and the Yuks' first album
is rough and raw
Icky and the Yuks is old school punk rock at its drunkest. Insulting
and disgusting yet honest and candid, the first Icky and the Yuks CD,
Eureka Pigness, was released Friday night at the Launchpad . .
.
"Welcome to Icky and the Yuks. If we offend ya, that's what we want,
if you don't like us, that's what we want," says front man Richard
Trott on Eureka Pigness.
. . . Eureka Pigness is raw punk rock. The CD is another
release from the local record label Socyermom Records . . .
Trott shrieks and howls from beginning to end, while [the band] slam
through the fast-moving and catchy songs . . .
